The Council of Economic Advisers Has Been Officially Demoted

The Council of Economic Advisers in 1949

The White House Council of Economic Advisers, a long-standing White House body, decades old, is being demoted by the Trump administration, reports The Wall Street Journal.

In a statement Wednesday the White House said that the president’s cabinet won't include the Chairman of the CEA.

This, of course, means President Trump will be getting all his advice from nutjob protectionists.

The free trade advocate Larry Kudlow was under consideration to head the CEA, which no doubt had some role in operatives in the Trump administration sabotaging the role of the head of the CEA. They probably have sabotaged the chances for Kudlow actually getting the position, also.

It's all about advancing anti-free trade thinking these days.

  1. If Nixon would have started this practice the world would be different. My professor claimed she convinced Nixon to close the gold window (temporarily). Whoops still closed. We made a deal with King Faisal to create the petro dollar in exchange for defense. So now we have the execution on Stein's law - "If something cannot go on forever, it will stop," Plan B is monetary chaos. The average life expectancy for a fiat currency is 27 years. It will happen because you need to print more just to pay the interest. So while I agree with your free trade comment economists have not served our country well.

  2. Good riddance to economists who treat humans like variables in a model.
