Are Minimum Wage Hikes Causing a Restaurant Growth Decline?

The growth in restaurant jobs is collapsing. The sector is well-known for offering opportunity to low-skilled, often first-time, workers.

Mark Perry has posted the below chart showing that the annual growth rate of restaurant employment is at a 6-year low. At the same time, there has been a steady increase at local and state levels of minimum wages, making it more difficult for restauranteurs to hire unskilled, low revenue producing, workers
