The Obamas have just purchased for $8.1 million the DC rental house they are living in.
The real estate website, Zillow.com, lists the estimate for the nine-bedroom, 8.5-bathroom stone mansion at $6.187 million, so the Obamas paid roughly $2 million over the estimate. But, hey, it's all about having good crony neighbors.
Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and owner of the establishment rag, TheWashington Post, paid $23 million in January for a house in the same neighborhood.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson also lives in the neighborhood; he purchased a $5.6 million house in February.
