This Week the White House (And Ivanka) Will Promote Crony Apprenticeships

The White House will take administrative actions to expand apprenticeships and job retraining.

But this won't be about shrinking regulations so that the free market can create opportunities. It is about shoveling taxpayer cash in the direction of companies and sectors that are close to the halls of power.

The President's daughter Ivanka will be leading the drive,

It will include, the following week, the House leadership introducing onto the floor workforce training legislation.

And here is part of the crony deal out in the open. It will be a bipartisan bill to reauthorize the "Perkins Career and Technical Education Act " for six years — providing more than $1 billion per year in federal support for career and technical education programs.

The Act was lobbied by technology companies including IBM. In an op-ed last year, IBM CEO Ginni Rometty called for an update in early 2017 to the Act, which provides federal funding to vocation and technical programs. She is getting her wish---at the expense of taxpayers.

The workforce central planning propaganda will start early in the morning today.

UPDATE

On Fox and Friends, Ivanka just said the Perkins Act was "a very good piece of legislation."
