Trump to Interview Yellen About Fed Chair Appointment

President Donald Trump will interview Janet Yellen Thursday about potentially staying on as chair of the Federal Reserve after her first term ends in February, according to multiple news outlets.

There are a number of other contenders for the chair, including
Fed Governor Jerome Powell, Fed Governor Kevin Warsh, Stanford economist John Taylor. Trump has met with all of them.

The Yellen interview may just be a courtesy.

National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn, and Neel Kashkari, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, are considered long-shot candidates.

According to Bloomberg, the President gushed about Taylor after meeting him.

An announcement as to Trump's pick will likely be announced before Thanksgiving.
