Also From Bastard Trump Tax Reform: Medical Device Tax Coming Back in 2018

The 2.3% excise tax on medical devices that was passed in the Affordable Care Act is coming back in 2018, the AP reports:
"Congress voted to suspend the tax for 2016 and 2017 with the widespread expectation it would be permanently abolished before 2018. But various GOP efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act and the taxes associated with it failed, and the sweeping federal tax overhaul recently signed by President Donald Trump didn't eliminate the medical device tax either."
BTW,  This was part of Obama healthcare reform that was killed by Congress. Now, Trump is putting it back.
The devil is in the details of the tax reform bill and there is plenty for the devil to feed on in the reform.

  1. I will be hit hard by the loss of the unlimited SALT deduction. But I don't blame Trump or Congress. I blame the states and municipalities who have such ridiculously high taxes.

  2. Trump didn't 'put it back'. The suspension that Congress enacted for 2016 & 2017 is expiring. BIG DIFFERENCE!
