Thank You, Federal Reserve: Modigliani Nude Fetches $157.2 Million at Auction

Nu couché (sur le côté gauche), a reclining nude by the modernist master Amadeo Modigliani, fetched $157.2 million Monday night in New York – the highest price in Sotheby’s history, reports The Guardian.

The painting sold for "nearly six times the painting's last purchase price in 2003," according to Sotheby's.
