Larry Kudlow Goes Full Idiot

Larry Kudlow watches President Trump leave his press conference in Charlevoix.
Trump's top economic advisor, Larry Kudlow, has apparently lost his glasses and his principles since joining the White House.

Kudlow said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union" that Trump pulled out of a joint statement with allies at the Group of 7 meeting over the weekend because a “betrayal” by the Canadian prime minister had threatened to make Trump appear weak before his summit meeting on Tuesday with North Korea’s leader.

Trump “is not going to let a Canadian prime minister push him around,”  Kudlow said, adding, “He is not going to permit any show of weakness on a trip to negotiate with North Korea.”

Of course, this is
total nonsense. One has nothing to do with the other. Indeed, if anything it shows that Trump cannot be trusted since when he got on the plane to head to Singapore, he immediately threw the G7 table over.

But what is even worse, Kudlow implied by his comments an endorsement of Trump's tariffs, which Kudlow knows full well do nothing but shrink an economy.

Kudlow's appearance was as bad as the appearance on "Fox News Sunday" by Peter Navarro, Trump's anti-trade adviser.

"There's a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door," Navarro said. "And that's what bad faith Justin Trudeau did with that stunt press conference. That's what weak, dishonest Justin Trudeau did, and that comes right from Air Force One."

Navarro added that while these were his own words, they reflected the "the sentiment that was on Air Force One." Navarro also said Trump attending the G7 in Canada was a "courtesy" to Trudeau.

The only difference is that Navarro is too dumb to understand the problems with tariffs, whereas Kudlow is not. But they both know they are just seeding the ground for coming Trump tariffs on German automobiles. Well, at least dumb Navarro gets that, who knows what Kudlow gets.

  1. How in the world can this administration complain about another government implementing tariffs?? Shouldn’t they be praising it as sound trade policy??
