Trump Agrees to $2 Trillion in Infrastructure Spending!

There goes the already out of control US budget.

The meeting at the White House between President Trump, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is over.

Here are the first reports on the meeting:

Speaking outside the White House, Pelosi said she was "pleased" with the way the meeting went.  She also said Trump agreed that infrastructure will encompass broadband in addition to transportation and water issues.

Schumer says White House agreed on $2 trillion spending for infrastructure.

Schumer says they will meet with White House again in 3 weeks on infrastructure funding. Translation: Expect higher taxes (including an increase in the gasoline tax).

  1. Standard Illinois politics makes its appearance on the federal stage once again. Neglect the roads and other government basics while squandering the funds on other things then demand higher taxes to fix the roads and other neglected items.

Obama tried this but it didn't take as I recall. He brought so much Illinois to the federal government.

  2. Time to fire up the dollar printing vortex. We need more dollars so everyone else's is worth less.

  3. Let me get out my magnifying glass and see where this sort of exercise of Federal power is listed in the Constitution...
    This may take awhile...
