Trump Warns China May Delay Trade Agreement Until After US Election

Good for the Chinese.

President Trump is warning that China may not strike an agreement to end the more than year-long trade war between the two countries until after the US presidential election in November 2020.

“I think that China will probably say, ‘let’s wait’,” Trump said on Friday.

US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and US trade representative Robert Lighthizer are about to head to China for the first trade talks since Trump reached a truce with Chinese President Xi Jinping at last month’s G20 in Osaka, Japan. They are scheduled to meet in Shanghai on July 30 with the top Chinese trade negotiator Vice Premier Liu He.

“When I win, like almost immediately, they’re all going to sign deals,” Trump said in the Oval Office.

LOL, I don't think Trump realizes how patient the Chinese can be, if necessary they will wait out four more years of Trump rather then sign some kind of wacky anti-trade deal with him.
