Comparing Winter Average Temperatures Across the United States

Below is their chart comparing winter average temperatures in California, Illinois, and New York to the 50 state average.

  1. Average temperature can be misleading because urban heat island effect plays a considerable role in it. Although in the span of that chart, the last 20 years there would not be much of an influence. It is an issue with longer spans of time.
