IMPORTANT: SEE UPDATE BELOW

This is a follow up to the post: Uber Warns California Passengers It May Have to Shut Down Operations in the State on Thursday

Lyft has announced that as of 11:59PM PT today all rideshare operations in California will be suspended.

“This is not something we wanted to do, as we know millions of Californians depend on Lyft for daily, essential trips,” the company said in a blog post.

It is expected that Uber will follow given an adverse ruling today of an appeal by the two rideshare operators.

California continues to destroy business in the state.

UPDATE

An appeals court has temporarily halted a preliminary injunction.

California’s First District Court of Appeals stayed the injunction until it rules on an appeal by the ride-hailing companies, which could take at least until October. The court scheduled oral arguments in the case for Oct. 13.

Lyft and Uber will continue operating their ride services for at least the interim period.
