Trump Says He Intends to ‘Ban’ TikTok From the US
Here is more evidence that Trump is an erratic blunt instrument bully.
He said on Friday night that he intends to “ban” the Chinese-owned video-sharing app TikTok from operating in the U.S.
“As far as TikTok is concerned, we’re banning them from the United States,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.
The president said he planned to take action against the social media platform as soon as Saturday, according to a pool report of his remarks.
Trump said he could use emergency economic powers or an executive order to enact the ban, saying, “I have that authority.”
Note well that this is a damn video-sharing app!
The idea, as stated by the Trump administration, that's its operation in the country is a national security risk is absurd.
If Trump really wanted to consider a threat to the privacy of Americans, he should look at the NSA.
This is about personal revenge.
Last month, a ticket-reservation campaign reportedly coordinated on TikTok by Trump opponents, many of them teenagers and K-Pop fans, may have guaranteed that hundreds, even thousands of seats for his Tulsa rally remained empty.

Everything on TikTok goes straight into Communist China's Intelligence database.
ReplyDeleteWho cares? What kind of morons think there is value in that information?

You mean all the dumb dancing and stupid challanges?
DeleteNeed to get off that one track mind. Just because the NSA should be abolished does not also mean this isn't a good move. The only real way to put pressure on the CCP without resorting to violence, is via economic leverage.
ReplyDeleteI’d rather try economic freedom.
DeleteI hope that he doesn't decide to ban Chinese food too.
