City of Compton to Hand Out Free Cash

Compton Mayor Aja Brown

The city of Compton is launching a pilot program that will guarantee free, recurring cash payments to 800 of its low-income residents -- with no strings attached.

The launch of the Compton Pledge, a guaranteed income program that seeks to "challenge the racial and economic injustice plaguing both welfare programs and economic systems," was announced by Mayor Aja Brown in a statement released Monday.

The program is slated to begin later this year with a select group of "pre-verified" residents who will receive monthly cash payments over a two-year period. A spokesperson from one of the organizations partnering with the program told CNN that they have not determined the exact amount of cash payments "beyond the range of a few hundred dollars."

" Recipients will be able to choose between multiple payment options to best suit their needs," according to a statement.

Self-identified Marxist Patrisse Cullors, an advocate of the Compton Pledge and co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement, said, “Guaranteed income is an urgent and necessary strategy for addressing the economic realities of racial injustice. I’m thrilled Mayor Brown and Compton are leading the way in this growing national movement.”

The "formerly incarcerated" and undocumented individuals are eligible for the handouts.

Although the program is billed as a private sector operation, the program is funded specifically by various lefty organizations, including Black Lives Matter, One Fair Wage and The Brotherhood Crusade.

No doubt, the pilot program will be reported as a great success and lefty statist will use the "success" as justification for expanded payments to many more by government. Of course, taxing money of the working class to handout to others is nothing but a program to shrink economic productivity.

  1. It would be difficult to believe that these leftist politicians aren't intentionally trying to crash our entire economy.

  2. Where can I get me some of that free cash? Or maybe I'm the wrong color?
