Neera Tanden and Hillary Clinton |
Joe Biden has chosen Neera Tanden, head of the Center for American Progress, a lefty think tank, to serve as director of the Office of Management and Budget, The Wall Street Journal reports.
What should we think of her?
Let's put it this way, I doubt that when David Stockman ran OMB that he would have even given her a job as head of the men's urinals cleaner team.
She is as crony corporate lefty as you can get. She worked on several Democratic presidential campaigns, including those of Michael Dukakis in 1988, Bill Clinton in 1992, and Barack Obama in 2008. She also was an adviser to Hillary Clinton in 2016.
In 2016, she told GQ, "Just to be 100 percent candid about it, I worked for Hillary for a really long time and I feel protective of her..I started working for Hillary in the '90s. People called her a socialist before being a socialist was cool..."
In 2019, The New York Times reported:
Ms. Tanden’s mother, Maya Tanden, says that her daughter “can be very aggressive.”
“She’s not going to let anyone rule over her,” she said, “and she has loyalty to Hillary because Hillary is the one who made her.”
So just think of it this way. If Biden gets in and Tanden is confirmed by the Senate, Hillary Clinton will get the last say on the United States budget.
-RWSerious conservatives, responsible moderates, and hard-headed liberals should want a tough-minded OMB head. OMB is where Cabinet secretaries' ill-considered projects go to die, where programs are evaluated, where trade-offs are made. Neera Tanden is the right person for the job.

Some of these nominees, that are Clinton associates, of the presumptive president elect have been found to have used Hillary Clinton's private email server. I relish the thought of Clinton's National Security violations of law being rehashed to the American public in the confirmation hearings.
ReplyDeleteBeing a socialist is cool? Did I die and go to some alternate universe? Joe's proving he's an idiot tool just like I always thought of him back when he came to national attention back in the 80's.
ReplyDeleteOn a more positive note, perhaps Biden is our James Buchanan. An inept president who allowed civil disorder to expand until we started shooting at one another. Or as was said in the movie "The Hunt For Red October" in that beautiful Russian-Scottish accent by Sean Connery, " A little revolution now and then is a healthy thing, don't you think?" (quoting Jefferson?)
