Judy Shelton |
Washington D.C. insider John Tamny told the Mclaughlin Group that Senator Lamar Alexander, who has been opposed to the confirmation of Judy Shelton to join the Federal Reserve Board, will change his vote.
This will provide Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell with the votes needed to confirm Shelton.
As I have pointed out several times before, Shelton holds erratic monetary policies but occasionally has been in favor of the gold standard.
May she adopt that position if she is confirmed.
She will be only one voice among 12 who vote on policy but I hope she adopts a sound money position and releases a written dissent after every policy decision outlining the irresponsibility of FOMC members voting for more money printing.
