Biden is Considering Nominating Lisa Cook to Federal Reserve Board

President Biden is considering nominating Lisa Cook, an economist at Michigan State University, to fill an open seat on the Federal Reserve Board, reports Axios.

Cook earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Her featured papers include:

“The implications of U.S. gender and racial disparities in income and wealth inequality at each stage of the innovation process,” (with Jan Gerson) Washington, Center for Equitable Growth Policy Brief, July 2019.

“Racial Segregation and Southern Lynching,” with Trevon Logan and John Parman, Social Science History, vol 42(4), pages 635-675, 2018.

“The Mortality Consequences of Distinctively Black Names,” with Trevon D. Logan and John Parman, Explorations in Economic History, Volume 59(C), pp.114-125 (January 2016).

“Distinctively Black Names in the American Past,” with Trevon D. Logan and John Parman, Explorations in Economic History, Volume 53 (July 2014), pp. 64-82.

“Inventing Social Capital: Evidence from African American Inventors, 1843-1930,” Explorations in Economic History, Volume 48, Issue 4 (December 2011), pp. 507- 518.

Just what is needed at the Fed as price inflation gets ready to explode, an expert on black economic history from a woke perspective.

But, hey, she must know how to play the game. She is a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, the Advisory Board of the Opportunity and Inclusive Growth Institute of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, the Advisory Board of the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation at the Smithsonian Institution, and the Board of Directors of the Roosevelt Institute.

She has also held positions or conducted postdoctoral research at the National Bureau of Economic Research; the Federal Reserve Banks of Minneapolis, New York, and Philadelphia; the World Bank; the Brookings Institution; the Hoover Institution (Stanford University); Salomon Brothers (now Citigroup); and C&S Bank (now Bank of America).

  1. Female genitalia? Check.
    Lots of melanin? Check.
Looks like she's qualified. No need to look beyond physical appearance.

  3. "Lisa Cook" is a Caucasian-normative name. Seems a bit too privileged to me. Uncle Joe can do better.
