Man Cashing in on NFT Craze By Selling A Year of Fart Sounds

I really never expected the Fed money pump madness to get this mad.

I missed this coming, totally.

Alex Ramírez-Mallis, 36, a Brooklyn-based film director is selling a year’s worth of fart audio clips, recorded in quarantine, as a non-fungible token (NFT).

“If people are selling digital art and GIFs, why not sell farts?” Ramírez-Mallis told The New York Post.

Ramírez-Mallis and his fellow farters compiled the recordings into a 52-minute “Master Collection” audio file.

“I’m hoping these NFT farts can at once critique [the absurdity], make people laugh and make me rich,” he said.

The top bid for the file is currently $183.

I hasten to point out that the closest thing in the past to such craziness was pet rocks which were sold in 1975 and were marketed like live pets, in custom cardboard boxes, complete with straw and breathing holes.

That was also a period of Federal Reserve money printing madness. Money supply growth peaked in 1975-76 at 13.5%.

Money printing in 2020 came in at 26%

When mad money gets printed and starts circulating, people do mad things.

  1. This has got to end very badly, right Robert?

  2. NFTs would make a great addition to the Alert Simple Portfolio. 10% allocation too conservative?

  3. The goofy new way of selling the rights aside, $183 for an audio file of sounds that can be used for TV, radio, or other media that uses sound effects does not seem outrageous. Provided of course the quality of the recording is good enough for such uses.
