Deputy Treasury Secretary Wolin Snuck In and Out of Iraq
This just supports my belief that the only reason casualties are down in Iraq is not because Iraq has become more friendly to American occupying forces, but because the only land the occupying forces are occupying is the Green Zone and well fortified outposts. Beyond that no American soldier dare tread.

Treasury Goes Wild Thursday
On Thursday morning, Deputy Treasury Secretary Wolin is going to a real pow wow, as he will attend the White House Tribal Nations Conference at the Department of the Interior.

He will meet with a number of Polish officials, including: Finance Minister Jacek Rostowski; Chair of the Prime Minister’s Economic Council and Former Prime Minister Jan Krzysztof Bielecki; and Leszek Balcerowicz, Warsaw School of Economics Professor who has previously served as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and President of the National Bank of Poland.
Riga, Latvia
In Riga, Wolin will recognize Latvia’s efforts to push through ambitious reforms after suffering one of Europe’s worst economic declines last year. The Deputy Secretary will meet with key Latvian officials, including: Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis; Central Bank Governor Ilmars Rimsevics; Finance Minister Andris Vilks; and party leaders of the Latvian Parliament.
London, United Kingdom
In London, the Deputy Secretary will outline steps the U.S. is taking to strengthen its financial system. He will also deliver a major speech on Dodd-Frank implementation at the London Stock Exchange. Deputy Secretary Wolin will meet with Bank of England Deputy Governor for Financial Stability Paul Tucker; Financial Secretary to the Treasury Mark Hoban; and Financial Services Authority Chairman Lord Adair Turner.
Brussels, Belgium
In Brussels, Wolin will further outline U.S. financial reform efforts, as well as cooperation with the European Union. The Deputy Secretary is scheduled to meet with European Commissioner for Internal Markets Michel Barnier, as well as key members of the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee.
