Rep. Ron Paul, Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy has a scheduled April 7 hearing to examine why the bullion programs at the U.S. Mint. continue to run out of bullion coins.
“We are going to try and find out what the Mint has done so they can give us a better answer as to why there is a shortage. Why can’t they keep the supply of coins up?” said the congressman in an interview with Kitco News.
The Mint is currently scheduled to release the 2011 American Eagle gold coin in May, 2011. The silver coin is scheduled for release in the fall.
Maybe he'll bring in George Selgin to testify?
