What if a Ron Paul Supporter Had Thrown This Punch?

Do you think the mainstream media would have run the story?

Of course they would have!

Not so when it comes to Union violence, says policymic:
All the major broadcast television networks (ABC, NBC, CBS) chose not to show footage of violent union members in Michigan tearing down a tent owned by Americans for Prosperity, or footage of a union member punching Fox News contributor Steven Crowder in the face repeatedly.
If that was a Ron Paul supporter throwing the punch, a Barbara Walters special would have been in the works discussing how society should deal with those violent libertarian extremists.

Tom Brokaw would remind the Greatest Generation that without the State to protect them, life would be a sea of chaos with libertarians running around like wild dogs stealing their Social Security checks.

Ah, but this was a good Union man who threw the punch, so nothing but the sound of crickets from the ventriloquist dummies that sit on the lap of the State.

The Internet, on the other hand, had this story covered from every angle.

Yet another reason to go cold turkey, ignore the dummies altogether, and help contribute to their constantly plunging viewership numbers.

  1. How many times did that other guy tell him to "Get the fuck outta my face!" The reporter was stirring it up big time and got some glory for it. That's what he wanted.... A punch in the face and some fame.

    1. Irrelevant. Firstly that was a different guy. Secondly form the videos I saw he was politely asking a question. Thirdly, even if he had been an ass that does not excuse physical violence. If indeed saying or writing something one finds objectionable were an excuse for violence, I'd have broken most of the bones in your body based on your post above.

Unions are a protected class. Violence by any group that is legally a protected class should resulted in the maximum statutory penalty * 10. Nothing says "hitting is bad" like getting a few years for throwing a few punches.

    3. B.S. Unions have a history of thuggery , violence and intimidation . Any business that does not cave in to their unjustified demands for salary increases and other benefits such as in the auto industry where an uneducated/ unskilled assembly line worker earns about $ 75.00 an hour [ benefits included ] is obscene . Is it any wonder that so many of our heavy industry has been shipped overseas. Detroit once a thriving city is now a crime ridden, drug infested , impoverished hell on earth . Greed has consequences .

  3. The biggest indictment of the media's shameless ideologically induced hypocrisy to happen so far is the incident of the black hotdog vendor hired by AFP who had his cart destroyed and claims that union protesters hurled racist slurs at him as they did it.

Now, the media absolutely loves race hate stories, they love them so much that they will go full bore on them even if there is good reason to believe they're frauds. They went all in on the duke rape story even though it had grand canyon sized cracks in it from the beginning, and when it was claimed that a tea party protest showered black lawmakers with racial slurs the media were not discouraged from reporting it as fact even though not one of the multiple cameras filming the black law makers as they moved through the crowd picked up a single slur.

You'd think then a black man getting racially abused and his source of income destroyed by an unruly white mob would get them salivating. NOPE! They couldn't care less. With social justice the justice is subservient to the social. As long as you are the right people fighting for the right cause then the media will happily look the other way while you engage in thuggery.

  4. I doubt the Ron Paul movement will continue to expand. There aren't any other politicians like him, almost 50% or more of the people in this country love welfare state. Vote with your feet

    1. About 50% of Americans are criminalhearted, wannabe bloodsuckers. Therefore, their intended victims should leave??

Nice strategy. Sets a fine example for youth about appeasing, indulging, and emboldening evil.

Now, how about, instead, the criminals have to leave?

    2. And we get them to do that how? Wouldn't the better option be to get enough people together setting up their own free society?

    3. Dream on Paul T - your demographic is shrinking by percentage every election cycle, and that which remains is increasingly inculcated (by the media & the "education" system) to believe in the nanny state and Keynesian economics - in a word, you're (we're) f*cked.

The post on which you commented is really the only answer - the problem is finding somewhere to go where I can earn a passable living for another 20 years.

  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIF70HsfpAg

Seems like the man who is punching in that picture may have been attacked first. In the video above, the full video is shown, and you see the union member on the ground. He gets up and then attacks the FOX News guy.

The video does not show exactly how he ended up on the ground though.

    1. As unsurprised as I am to find selective editing on the part of Faux, I'm equally unsurprised that in Cenk's defense of this poor union thug who mysteriously ended up on the ground, at no point did he make any comment about the other union thug visible in the video actively and vigorously attempting to pull down the tent with people inside of it.

To me, it appeared as though Crowder backed into him, perhaps catching the man off balance and knocking him down. Who knows. I didn't appear as though someone other than Crowder would have made contact with him, and he seemed pretty certain he was knocked down by Crowder based upon his reaction. One of the other thugs, by the way, was heard bleating, "he just assaulted you!", yet Crowder obviously had his back to him. Certainly a novel approach to "assaulting" someone.

Also notable in Cenk's "defense" is the "eye-witness" government union employee, as well as I'm sure the comments of a Michigan State Police union member, as well.

Fair and balanced reporting there, Cenk. Thanks for your help in sorting this matter out.

These "Young Turks"... "they're bad guys, man."

    2. To be fair to Cenk, he has stated in other videos that whoever tried to pull down the tent should not have done so and was a terrible thing to do.

  6. All I saw was a bunch of animals that broke out of the zoo, still demanding to be fed.

Good thing that rhinoceros didn't hurt Steve Crowder too badly. A giraffe tried to grab him from behind.

If Ron Paul supporters had behaved in that way, they would have been tear-gassed and beaten with clubs. The Barbara Walters special would have covered the hunger strikes and candle-light vigils in protest of libertarians.

Obama: You know, I don't know when they decided to make a virtue out of self-defense. You LET that rhino hit you in the face until police arrive. That's the American way. You didn't build that park your getting beat up in. If that rhino is hitting you, you feed it and take care of it. Don't be trying to protect yourself.

  8. The fact that people are increasingly resorting to violence is a measure of the amount of stress on the society. Government intervention has not reduced the stress, as it appears, only prolonged or worsened it. The media is too busy covering an alarmingly large number of school shootings (Why this week only? Why twice this week? The first one didn't kill enough people?)

Union violence is so common as to be un-newsworthy.

  9. If the general population understood the politics in the world and what freedom used to be here in our country, I wonder if they would seek freedom or more unions more government and more collectivist activity that is dooming not just the US but the whole world to being controlled and dominated by a small group of people who pull all the strings. People should study and research more on the internet. Maybe by looking at the issues and a paper at www.freedom-forceinternational.org would be a good place to start. I just read the page last week and it was an eye opener and seems like the evidense is there. Individualism and not collectivism is what we need to strive for. Check out the page and read, learn, and draw your own conclusions.

  12. Years ago when I was living around Philly, I got to know a young man who had just gotten into a trade union by virtue of the fact that his uncle was in a significant position in that union. One Saturday afternoon the young man stopped by my house and told me the story of how that morning he and a number of other union members had been ordered to go to a site where a non-union shop was doing some work. It seems that the owner of the non-union shop had parked his BMW in front of the work site. Turns out that the union members proceeded to stone the BMW to the point where it appeared to be a complete wreck. The young man's attitude was "That's what he deserved for trying to infringe on union turf." I got the impression that this was fairly common practice to protect the union position.

  13. Ron Paul supporters SHOULD have taken appropriate action on a number of occasions and you better believe that would have been run and would have probably gotten the nomination. The sicko's in the party would have supported us then for showing courage.

  14. The voters have spoken ... at least 50.6% of them. They want to have more government handouts with no source for those funds. They want the U.S. to go bankrupt. They want to have the U.S. to become a socialist nation where individual accomplishment is penalized. All these voters realize that, as more people get handouts, more people will vote for people that give them handouts, and the deeper in debt we become and closer to bankruptcy. All these voters understand that this political direction will be the end of the American Dream - working hard and getting wealthy. OR ... 50.6% of the voters have no idea what's happening, don't take the time to study the facts before voting, and don't realize we are doomed as a country: a matter of when, not if. They simply vote for whomever will give them “entitlements”. Me thinks the latter is the case. 50.3%, you voted, you'll get it eventually, but too late. Unfortunately, the rest of us, the 49.7%, either have to live with this crap or leave the country to pursue what people used to come to America to get: The Dream. WHAT'S SO COMPLICATED WITH THIS? IT DOESN'T TAKE ROCKET SCIENCE TO SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING. Goodbye America, it's been a great ride.

  15. I agree , sadly this is the beginning of the end for what used to be the GREATEST country in the world . George Orwells book " 1984 " is coming to pass, what he wrote was a blueprint of what we can expect and is what is now happening . There is an EVIL CABAL , a power behind the throne that dictates to our so called leaders as to what is acceptable and not acceptable. They have no choice , do our bidding or else. The media , Wall Street , the Banksters are all controlled by this EVIL CABAL . I recently tried to place a large ad in the Houston Chronicle and they refused to place the ad. I have placed the same ad in at least 18 to 20 newspapers around the country since 2002 . Have never been refused until now . The V.P. of the paper said it was never proven. " Freedom of the Press ? " .........I think not . Why ? The answer is simple , look who owns and controls the mass media . The press is known to pervert , twist , distort , omit certain facts or outright LIE, they NEVER give two sides of the story . DUPLICITY , TREASON and MURDER .......
