I think Jesse Benton may have deliberately sabotaged Ron Paul's campaign, because Benton is a full bore neo-con and secretly despised Ron Paul's politics. Maybe Benton whispered something into McConnell's ear to make McConnell believe that Ron Paul's failed campaign wasn't accidental, and therefor thought Benton was not as big a screw up as he seemed to be.
I'd laugh my ass off if McConnell ends up losing to Ashley Judd, and Rand Paul gets blown away by Marco Rubio in 2016.
