Ron Paul Writing Education Manifesto

New School Manifesto will be released by Grand Central on September 17.

According to GC, the book will be “a focused guide to Dr. Paul’s position, which centers on a strong support for home schooling and free market principles applied to education. He makes the case for individual freedoms as they pertain to educating our children, and nimbly dissects the most pressing issues that need to be addressed from the libertarian point of view.”

New School Manifesto will also provide a history of American schooling and a critique of what gas gone wrong.

  1. Looking forward to this! Should be an important book. So glad I was homeschooled, but most of the curriculum is statist to some degree, we need to do something about that.

    1. There is this:
      http://www.robinsoncurriculum.com/
which is created by Dr. Art Robinson, who ran for congress in south Oregon in 2010 and 2012 and was endorsed not only by Ron Paul but also the Oregon Libertarian Party. He's more of a libertarian conservative than libertarian (he's very religious and does not like homos). I haven gone through the curriculum personally but it has caught my interest

  2. I hope now that he is a private citizen he stops using the "constitution" as a conduit to attract and promote his ideas. Enough of that social contract BS.

    1. I agree the social contract is BS, however, his strategy of just saying "following the constitution is a great place to start" has been highly effective. I know if not for Ron Paul I would still be a neocon, probably never would've heard of Rothbard or Mises.

  3. In the meantime, read John Taylor Gatto (free online).

    1. Absolutely. If anyone can do better than Gatto's "The Underground History of American Education" then by all means, I look forward to it.

It is free online via The Odysseus Group [www.johntaylorgatto.com]. There is also a section labeled 'Errata' on the website. However, I also found the book in pdf format, with major corrections already made, if anyone is interested.

  4. Looking forward to it! Hoping it's in the tradition of John Taylor Gatto and James Tooley; the latter is the author of "Reclaiming Education."

  5. Great, this seems like a neglected area in libertarian circles. Dr. Paul is phenomenal in getting out the message of non-aggression. I've noticed he typically goes after the "low hanging fruit" such as the Fed, war, taxes, etc. Education is important too, but this one will be difficult to get people to arrive at the same conclusions as Rothbard. Especially considering 99.9% of the population believes in public schools in some form. I'm curious how far he'll go.
