Crony Lefty De Blasio Names Former Goldman Sachs Managing Director as a Deputy Mayor

 Alicia Glen
During a news conference today , NYC Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio named  Alicia Glen as deputy mayor for housing and economic development.

Surprise, surprise, she was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, where she headed the Urban Investment Group's Real Estate business.

She appears to be quite the revolving door crony. Prior to joining Goldman, Glen was the Assistant Commissioner for housing finance at the New York City Department of Housing, Preservation and Development. She also served on the boards of the Corporation for Supportive Housing, the Citizens Budget Commission and the Bowery Residents Committee.

For her its all about mixing government and the private sector into one big crony mess, Mussolini style.

From the Goldman Sachs page that featured her:
Alicia Glen, head of the Urban Investment Group at Goldman Sachs, discusses the firm's commitment to "social impact investing" — the idea of leveraging private sector capital to finance public social services.
De Blasio also named Laura Santucci as his chief of staff. She is a former aide in the Obama administration and at one point was the acting director of the Democratic National Committee. And she put in time as a union crony. She worked for 1199 SEIU as Associate Director for Politics and Legislation.

  1. Always funny how liberals always pick people from the big banks they rail against to key government positions.
