Bids for Clippers Coming in at $1.5 Billion to $2 Billion

NyPo reports:
Shelly Sterling was reviewing bids from five groups interested in buying the Los Angeles Clippers, a person with knowledge of the negotiations told The Associated Press on Wednesday.
The individual, who wasn’t authorized to speak publicly about the deal, said if an agreement to sell is reached before next Tuesday, the league’s owners wouldn’t meet in New York to vote on terminating Donald Sterling’s ownership.
The individual wouldn’t specify the interested buyers, but described them as major players with considerable financial means. The person told the AP the sale price “appears to be increasing to an unbelievable number,” and that it could soar past $1.5 to $2 billion, and possibly more.
Another person familiar with the negotiations said Shelly Sterling’s attorneys, bankers and others involved in the process were in a locked room reviewing the bids, which were due by 2 p.m. PDT Wednesday.
You can buy a pretty good Galt's Gulch with $2 billion cash.

Sterling purchased the Clippers for $12 million in 1981, but he only put up $2 million cash, the rest he financed.

  1. Looks like Magic will get his team. Not that he has any interest in purchasing it of course.

  2. TWO BILLION DOLLARS? No, there is no chance that any outside organization or company would have any vested interest in releasing those VS recordings.

All of the public appearances by V.S--- indicate that she was NOT the person that released the tapes. Her defense of Sterling has been unequivocal. She truly loves him.

Someone is playing a game, and she is a pawn.

  3. The NBA Board of Governors, of which ANY Clippers franchise owners is a signatory, want to vote him out for breaching contract by creating a monetary loss league-wide for his comments, and it seems in the end D. Sterling willl get a big cash payout when all this is said and done.
