Does Henry Blodget Have An Intense Detestation For Economics?

By Chris Rossini

In this day and age, it's not hard to gain an understanding of simple economic concepts. You can learn about supply & demand in the same amount of time that it takes to learn how to tie your shoes.

While keeping an eye on Twitter this morning, I stumbled upon BusinessInsider teammates Henry Blodget and Joe Weisenthal having quite the convo. I'll spare you and your precious time by providing only the following highlights:

Does Blodget hate economics? He's the only one that knows his true motivations, but based on these embarrassing tweets, the answer is YES.

Wages...supply & demand...these are tie-your-shoelace type concepts. Then again, maybe Blodget wears velcro laces.

In any case, I couldn't help but think of Murray Rothbard's timeless quote. It applies here more than ever:
“It is no crime to be ignorant of economics, which is, after all, a specialized discipline and one that most people consider to be a ‘dismal science.’ But it is totally irresponsible to have a loud and vociferous opinion on economic subjects while remaining in this state of ignorance.”

  1. Is Blodget really that stupid? For example, perhaps he doesn't know what happened to the automobile & steel industries in this country, or, maybe he's ignoring them.

  2. With the average "progressive" having the IQ of a turnip, a rich person and/or a government warmonger need only mouth some stupid "progressive" B.S. for a free "get out of jail" pass. Like the Clintons, Obama, Al Gore etc....
