Hayek on Democracy, Special Interests, and Dictatorships
As you will note in the clip, Hayek is far from being an anarcho-capitalist, but he does understand the problems with the structure of the current democracy.
Wags, you say odd things sometimes. Ancap, at least the way I see it, is the only consistent Libertarian theme. Here in Alaska, many people who have called my radio program just thought I was a nut. They hated me. But after 4 years, more and more people tell me, "when I first listened to you I thought you were just crazy... Now I agree with you". Consistent anarcho-capitalism makes people think. Republicans, democrats, both, it makes them think, and at the very least gets them to examine the political theories they have believed all their lives. "I think stealing is wrong" "When is it wrong"? "Always" Makes sense to more and more people.
Anarchism is killing our movement. It's not right.
