LSE Hit by Computer Failure

The London Stock Exchange said a computer failure caused the longest halt of trading in more than eight years.

The fault has left some traders without prices for more than four hours. Trading is now in an auction, after which continuous dealing will resume, the LSE said on its Web site today.
