Madoff's Accountant, You Can't Make This Up

David Friehling, CPA, of Friehling & Horowitz, "audited" Bernie Madoff's $50 billion Ponzi scheme.

Friehling operated from a 13-by-18-foot office in Rockland County, New York. A woman in a nearby office, Leslie Cousar, said a man who comes to the auditor's office does so for 10- to 15-minute periods, and wears tight pants and tie-dyed shirts. Cousar said she never saw anyone else going to the office during the day, but about 5:30 p.m., another man would show up and use the location.

Friehlng was president of the Rockland Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

As president, he wrote the monthly: The Trusted Professional

He lives north of New York City in a two-story house on a private road in a secluded section of New City, NY with a pool and three cars - a 2008 Lexus, 2005 BMW and 2004 BMW - in the driveway. Two cars have vanity plates "145CPA" and "FTROOP".

  1. I think you are being unfair to O'Rourke Enterprises to compare them to Madoff. Sarge, Agarn and Wild Eagle actually provided useful services i.e. souvenirs, a bar, the Play-Brave club and even managed the rock group "The Bedbugs" (lead by Lowell George)

  2. Keep in mind that it is Madoff's accountant that is driving around with the "FTROOP" license plate.

RW is just reporting the facts.
