The Unseen Battle

While readers get to see comments left here at EPJ, you unfortunately don't get to see the email battles. For your entertainment pleasure, I will share a couple. My replies are in italics:

By way of introduction, this first nut-job appears to be a very pedestrian writer, who (hee, hee, hee) says on his website that he is hoping to be discovered "by Steven (sic) King's agent."

Keep up the good work. The more you morons on the right manufacture this drivel, the more marginalized you become in society. You are fast becoming the American
version of the Taliban.

Mr. Wenzel,

I am completely shocked that you would pander to people's fears about Healthcare reform by posting the COMPLETELY FALSE Twitter postings by someone called "Fleckman" without validating his claims first. As an Economist, you should be ashamed! I seriously doubt any of your credentials or opinions at this point. It seems you are just using insane rhetoric to increase the traffic on your website, without providing anything that could be considered value-added information for your readers. You are no better than Fleckman himself. You provide no context for the posted remarks, and you are promoting misinformation to forward your own Political/Economic position. I am appalled, Mr. Wenzel. Your claim to be an Economist is laughable. I hope your studies in Economics reach beyond "Arm-chair Economics" or Econ. 101. Since there is no Ph.D behind your name, I can not be sure you have had more than 1 semester of Economic study by reading anything you've written....

What the heck is a CV?

Do I get to view yours too? You know what? Never mind. I have more important things to do. You aren't worth my time

  2. Wenzel,

I think the first e-mailers likening you to the Taliban was his way of implying that it might be appropriate to use violence to get rid of you.

If they don't pre-emptively take you out now, you might start encouraging people to not educate their daughters!
