Carlyle Group Chief Rubenstein Donates $5.75M to Duke University

Duke University trustee David Rubenstein has donated $5.75 million to the university’s Sanford School of Public Policy.

The money will be used to endow the school’s environmental and energy policy program, to fund a speaker series and to provide internship support for the school’s public policy master’s degree students.

Hmmm, doesn't David invest in environmental and energy stuff? Is David just trying to be a solid alumni supporter or is he trying to grow Soros like tentacles?

Rubenstein is a 1970 graduate of Duke.

He also donated $5 million toward the construction of the school’s building, which opened in 2005. The facility is named Rubenstein Hall in his honor.

  1. Just saw Frontline's "The Warning." Trash commentary. They blamed OTC derivatives but falied to even identify what a derivative was, the difference between OTC and exchange derivatives, and identify different kinds of derivatives like CDSs. Garbage.

  2. Rubenstein knows public policy paved the road to Carlyle's riches.

If it was pure business acumen, the money would've gone to the MBA program.

Carlyle lost another affiliate to bankruptcy, Stallion Oilfield Services.
