Bernanke's confirmation for a second term looks dead.
California Senator Barbara Boxer has issued a statement opposing the confirmation of Fed chairman Ben Bernanke to a second term. This could be the nail that ends it for Bernanke.
Boxer is in the fight of her life in California to maintain her Senate seat. Consider her 'no' vote to be a direct result of Scott Brown's election victory in Massachusetts. She is going to distance herself so far from the elite insiders that she will be only meeting with them in allies after midnight.
