Edouard Carmignac just put his daughter, Maxime Carmignac, in charge of a $100 million hedge fund.
And from the looks of it, Carmignac has been grooming his daughter for this day from the very beginning.
Since graduating business school ESSEC, 30-year old Ms. Carmignac has had a stunning seven different jobs.
First she had analyst stints at McKinsey & Co, Lazard, and Morgan Stanley. Then at 25, Ms. Carmignac began working as an international equity analyst at her dad's Carmignac Gestion, in 2005.
Then in 2006, she co-launched Carmignac Market Neutral, CG's only hedge fund (and the same fund she's now in charge of).
It seems like if she manages the hedge fund well, she's a shoo-in to take over her father's entire asset management empire, Carmignac Gestion. He's the founder and currently both CEO and CIO of the $48 billion firm.
