Obama to the Rescue?

President Obama will campaign Sunday in Massachusetts for the Democratic senate candidate Martha Coakely. The latest poll has Republican Scott Brown pulling ahead in the race.

If Brown wins, Democrats would lose the 60-vote Senate majority they’ve needed to prevent Republicans from blocking votes on measures such as health-care.

It isn't completely clear if Obama will help or hurt the Coakley campaign, but with her fall in the polls, the Obama trip can be viewed as a Hail Mary pass.

In the November 2009 elections, Obama stumped for Gov. Jon Corzine in New Jersey and for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds in Virginia. Both Democrats lost.

  1. Seems to me the dems have lost regardless of whether or not they win the seat. Who would have thought this could have happened in MA?

As far as O, he may as well pick up another O (Oprah) on his way; maybe the two of them can exorcise the Olympics-bid curse.
