The Treasury Secretary and the First Lady

Yup, Secreatry Geithner spends the day with the bosses wife. The theme of today's propaganda: Financing Healthy Food.

On Friday morning, Secretary Geithner will travel to Philadelphia, where he will join First Lady Michelle Obama and USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack to announce new details of the Healthy Food Financing Initiative -- a partnership between the U.S. Departments of Treasury, Agriculture and Health and Human Services that will invest $400 million a year to help bring grocery stores to underserved areas and help places such as convenience stores and bodegas carry healthier food options. The First Lady and Secretaries Geithner and Vilsack will make two local stops to raise awareness of the widespread problem of “food deserts” and the steps Philadelphia has taken to get healthy, affordable food to its communities.

Also while in Philadelphia, Secretary Geithner will have a private meeting with Governor Ed Rendell.
