Albania Plans Gold Coins To Honor Mother Teresa

Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha has announced  that the government will mint a series of gold and silvers coins with Mother Teresa’s portrait in honor of the 100th anniversary of her birth.

“We should use budget funds to mint a series of gold and silver coins with her portrait,” Berisha said during a cabinet meeting.

Born Agnese Gonxhe Bojaxhiu to ethnic Albanian parents in Skopje, Macedonia in 1910, Mother Teresa moved to Calcutta in India in 1929, where she remained until her death in 1997.
