Rare Ayn Rand Manuscript to Auction at Sotheby's Today

FYI, a client of mine has put a rare Ayn Rand  manuscript up for auction at Sotheby's, today.

The manuscript is Ayn Rand’s handwritten speech, “The Intellectual Bankruptcy of Our Age,” her first speech at Ford Hall Forum. Delivered on March 26, 1961.
.
The manuscript is over fifty handwritten pages in length. Marsha Malinowski, Senior Vice President of Sotheby's, notes: "Her jagged and deliberate penmanship is characteristically powerful. The fifty-two pages of text are riddled with hundreds of her own additions, deletions, and corrections."

In 1983, Ford Hall Forum showcased this manuscript at its 75th anniversary gala auction, where it was acquired by my client. The Sotheby’s pre-auction estimate for the manuscript is $60,000-80,000.

For anyone interested, the auction is today. Today's item begin to be auctioned off at 10:00 AM in alphabetical order, so the "R" items will be down the road a bit. Here are the details>
