Major League Baseball to Launch Propaganda Campaign

NYT reports:
Michelle Obama has enlisted Major League Baseball and its players’ association for a new public service advertising campaign to promote her program to eliminate childhood obesity.

Distributed by the Advertising Council, the campaign consists of 30 television and 30 radio spots, customized for each of the league’s teams...

The advertising is the latest initiative in the first lady’s “Let’s Move” campaign against childhood obesity, which was announced in February and involves partners in government, science, medicine, business, education and sports.
This is really just terrible. Baseball should really mind its own business. I'd like to hear what wide-bodies David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez think of this campaign.

  1. Anabolics against obesity, or what?

  2. Couldn't agree with you more, RW. But the Presiden't wife's promotion of dietary issues is dangerous. The next thing you know the politicians will want to turn the healthcare industry into a public utility with mandatory weigh-ins...uh oh, looks like we are already going down that road to serfdom.

  3. I can't afford a ticket to an MLB game because Michelle took my ticket money and spent it on her altruistic MLB-backed obesity campaign.

Junior is going to be really disappointed when he hears this! "Sorry buddy, we aren't going to the game tonight after all..."
