A Mysterious Thursday for Geithner

We know Treasury Secretary Geithner will be in New York City, presumably on Treasury business, since the Treasury doesn't put out a schedule for him on days he takes off from work, but there is no disclosure at all as to his activities. Very unusual.

Here's how the Treasury release reads:

DAILY TREASURY GUIDANCE FOR THURSDAY, AUGUST 19, 2010


On Thursday, Secretary Geithner will travel to New York City for a series of meetings. He has no public events on his schedule.

It should be noted that by Geithner travelling to New York City for meetings, rather than having participants visit the Treasury, there will be no public log that will be released at a future date, as would be the case if meeting participants visited the Treasury.
