It remains unclear how deeply the DOJ and the SEC are probing "expert networks" in relation to their on-going insider trading investigations. I continue to note that these expert networks appear to be a close cousin to general news gathering organizations. Indeed, as I have noted before Bloomberg has a partnership with Gerson Lehrman Group. Reuters has its very own expert network company, and even the PR wire service, PRNewswire has its own expert network subsidiary.
