Apple Removes WikiLeaks App from Its Online Store

Apple on Tuesday confirmed that it had removed from its online store an iPhone and iPad app that let users view the content on the WikiLeaks site and follow the WikiLeaks Twitter account, reports NYT.

Trudy Muller, an Apple spokeswoman, said the company had removed the app “because it violated our developer guidelines.” Ms. Muller added: “Apps must comply with all local laws and may not put an individual or group in harm’s way.”

  1. I will never purchase another Apple product as long as I live. I have 23 computers in my classroom, and they will never be replaced with an Apple product. I will inform my students who ask me what kind of computer to purchase to never purchase an Apple, and I will tell them why. That is a ton of students, and all in the name of freedom of speech! Bad move Apple, really stupid move Apple, wow!
