Issa Calls for Dismissals at SEC.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa wants the SEC to terminate problem employees, particularly the ones singled out last year for viewing pornography on the job.

In a letter to SEC Chairman Mary Schapiro earlier this month, Issa wrote: “The agency must terminate employees who perform poorly or violate policies,” he wrote. He asked specifically about the employees the SEC’s inspector general found to be watching pornography, reports WSJ.

Issa asked whether any laws or policies are impeding her from removing them and to report back to him by the end of the month.

The entire idea of the SEC is bad. The agency should be closed. It creates headline grabbing, resume boosting cases and little else. It was launched under FDR and the first commissioner was the scheming Joe Kennedy. Nuff said.

  1. Wait... Hold on... They're still employed by the SEC?

Just what, exactly, does one have to do to get fired?

  2. Honestly, who cares whether these people watch porn? Why is that, of all their activities, cause for dismissal? The agency is mischief-making and should certainly be abolished--then all of its flacks will need to find useful employment. But why single out porn? Issa is, once again, silly.
