More Details on Geithner's Trip to Davos

The Department of the Treasury today announced additional details regarding Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner’s schedule at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, January 27-28, 2011. The Secretary will meet with counterparts from around the world to discuss a range of issues including the state of the U.S. and the global economy.

On Thursday morning, Secretary Geithner will meet with members of the WEF International Media Council, in a discussion facilitated by Financial Times Editor Lionel Barber.

In the afternoon, the Secretary will attend the Governors Meeting for Investors for a discussion on "creating sustained economic growth."

 Later, he will attend a meeting of Financial Services Governors to discuss “Repositioning the Industry in the New Reality.”

On Friday morning, Secretary Geithner will join Charlie Rose for a conversation on, “Priorities for the U.S. Economy.”

In the early evening, the Secretary will attend the Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders for a session entitled, “Reform of the International Monetary System.”

LOL @ "the New Reality" - as if we had some glitch in the space-time continuum, the global economic DeLorean hit 88 MPH, and now we are on an alternate timeline where consequences of previous actions are finally crashing down. "It turns out we actually *can't* keep up a pyramid scheme forever like we thought we could, but only because we are in a New Reality where actions have consequences. It's no one's fault, it's just the New Reality."
