I'm not sure Reich means by the second tweet what I am  taking from the tweet. But the deficit is a swamp that is likely a much bigger problem than the misleading numbers thrown around by government officials, including the President. And, yes demagogues, including the President, will use the financial crisis for their personal gain by attempting to expand governmentt revenues via increased taxes.
