The Future of Nuclear Power in the World
The Economist conducted a very solid interview with Michael Levi of the Council of Foreign Relations on the future of nuclear power. Levi's comments are for the most part not the geo-political strategic chess game type comments by global masters that can come out of CFR, but are more coments that provide a solid overview of the current situation.

I wonder if to the degree a person is focused on national self-interest, the urge for nuclear power is almost irresistible, but to the degree a person is focused on individual self-interest it might not really make a lot of sense. Isn't it perhaps just a big government solution? If energy prices increased, wouldn't there be more innovation?
ReplyDeleteI note one of the reasons often given for nuclear power is global warming. That's perhaps revealing as well.
Hard to find an intelligent discussion of the situation, but the MIT site is rather good.
