No Joke: Seinfeld Disses Trump (The Donald Disses Back)

Jerry Seinfeld agreed to perform at the Trump National Golf Club for an event put on by the Eric Trump Foundation. Eric is a son of The Donald.

Seinfeld pulled out of the Sept. 13 event benefiting the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, according to NyPo, because he disagrees with Trump's questioning of Barack Obama's citizenship, his reps said.

Trump responded with a letter, according to NyPo, that said:

I just learned you canceled a show for my son's charity because of the fact that I am being very aggressive with respect to President Obama, who is doing an absolutely terrible job as our leader.

We don't care that you broke your commitment, even though the children of St. Jude are very disappointed, and despite the fact that your manager clearly stated you are 'truly a man of his word.'

What I do feel badly about is that I agreed to do, and did, your failed show, 'The Marriage Ref,' even though I thought it was absolutely terrible . . . Despite its poor ratings, I didn't cancel on you like you canceled on my son and St. Jude. I only wish I did.

You should be ashamed of yourself!
NyPo also reported on Seinfeld's snack heavy rider to his contract. It:
included demands for Hershey's Almond Kisses, original Fig Newtons and cold vegetable trays (no baby carrots). Inexplicably, Jerry also insisted on "NO CUSHIONED STOOLS!"

  1. The Donald wins this round. Well done sir.

Jerry's work over the last 10-15 years has shown that Larry David deserves much of the credit for Seinfeld. MUCH.

  2. I'm probably biased, because my charity is also St. Jude's. But canceling for a benefit made for children that have cancer is the height of disgusting behavior. I used to be a Seinfeld fan, too.
