  1. Maybe I'm wrong, but I get the feeling that the trailer purveys is that even with all the screwed up problems, IT HAD TO BE DONE. Each of Bernanke lines are like, "Irrevocable, impending doom is coming, so launch a space shuttle to an asteroid like Armageddon and we'll save the world."

I haven't read Sorkin's book, so I'm left wondering what narrative is going to be told. Does anybody know if they'll focus any on the government policies that helped create the situation? Are things like the CRA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Fed interest rate policy, and the evolution of too big to fail (Mexican Default, Continental Illinois, S&L Crisis, Peso Crisis, LTCM) going to be talked about at all?

  2. I doubt the Fed will get much of the blame in this movie (though it would be amazing to see!). Still, good choice of Giamatti playing Bernanke (resemblance is uncanny) and "Fortunate Son" playing in the background.

  4. Nixon was a saint, compared to today's slick politicians - Democrat and Republican alike.

Ron Paul is the best chance this country has to get the problem fixed.
