Geithner Gives Crudup a Car Ride

The 2 hour HBO movie about the financial crisis, Too Big To Fail, will premiere on May 23.

According to NyPo, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke agreed to meet actor Paul Giamatti, who plays Bernanke in the movie. Giamatti spent time with Bernanke to study his work habits, his mannerisms and speech style.

Billy Crudup plays Tim Geithner. Geithner only had time to meet with Crudup during a brief car ride while Geithner headed downtown in NYC after a speech in fall 2010.

The movie also features William Hurt as Hank Paulson, Ed Asner as Warren Buffett

  1. If the Bernanke agreed to meet with Giamatti then I suspect the movie will sell a pro managed economy skewed piece of junk like Matt Damon's Inside Job.

  2. I'm Really looking forward to seeing Ben's softer, more human side. We know him only by his near perfect SAT score and as the destroyer of our currency, but the real problem with Ben is that he just loves and cares too much.
Maybe this could re-run on the Hallmark channel.

  3. This movie is going to be great from a drama perspective. There's an interesting story and great actors.

But at the same time, this movie is going to SUCK because it's going to be propaganda for intervention, even though it's the intervention that caused the problems in the first place.
