Heavy Plotting Today by the President with the Corporate Elite

President Obama meets today with almost two dozen current corporate elite types, including General Electric Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Immelt, Intel Corp CEO Paul Otellini and American Express Chairman and CEO Kenneth Chenault.

They will meet under the cover in North Carolina under the cover of the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

Other members of the jobs council include Brian L. Roberts, chief executive of Comcast and board chairman of NBCUniversal; Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Facebook; Robert Wolf, Chairman of UBS Americas; Citigroup Inc. Chairman Richard Parsons; DuPont Co. Chairman and CEO Ellen Kullman; Eastman Kodak Chairman and CEO Antonio Perez and John Doerr, a senior partner with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.

  2. One big name consistently absent from these big-wig anti-freedom, pro-centralization plotting fests is Steve Jobs. Many of his detractors have criticized him for being 'too controlling' over the software of his own products, but at least he doesn't want the government to mandate any of his preferences.
