Latest Treasury Projections: Borrowing Exhaustion Date Remains August 2

Today, Mary Miller, Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets at the Department of the Treasury, issued a statement reaffirming that the projected date on which the United States will exhaust borrowing authority under the statutory debt limit will be August 2. .

“On the basis of careful analysis of actual and projected revenues and expenditures, the Treasury Department continues to project that the United States will exhaust its borrowing authority under the debt limit on August 2, 2011," she said in the statement.
